I think the main argument is technical to the extent that additional
profiles for the same thing do reduce interoperability. But I can see
how people equally interpret that as political.
The motivation for creating CRTP profiles within ROHC was also primarily
political.

Can you expand on this. What do you mean with bridge? A gateway or more
in the meaning of bridging over between ROCH and CRTP?
