Hi All,
I need some clarification on the paragraph below:
The
sequence counter is incremented by the source of the DAO message
(the
node that owns the
prefix, or learned the prefix via some other
means), each time it issues a DAO
message for its prefix....
Further, if the DAO message appears to be out of
synch (the sequence
counter is 2 or more behind the present value) then the DAO state
is
considered to be stale
and may be purged, and the DAO message is
discarded.
It seems to me that out of synch DAO message can only happen if a node receives DAO message for the same prefix from two different children (note that this implies multiple DA parents).
If that is the case it means that the node should remove the route going through the child advertising the prefix with a stale sequence number (and keep the more up-to-date route via the other child)
Is my reasoning correct?
Best,
Mathilde
