As has been pointed out to me privately, the terminology has been  
completely messed up by the definition of "virtual concatenation",  
which is a parallel bundle of pipes over which a "concatenated" pipe  
is reverse-muxed.  This effectively destroys the usefulness of the  
term.  Perhaps we can get the folks at Lake Superior State to add it  
to this year's list of banned words.  ;-)
