[Seamoby] Progress on Drafts
Folks,
I spoke with Dave Kessens, Ops AD, yesterday and he approved the changes I
proposed to address his Discuss issue on draft-ietf-seamoby-ctp-10.txt, so
we are go for resubmitting the draft for IESG approval. I've put the
modifications into the draft and sent it to John Loughney to nroff and post,
which he will do next week when he is home (we are both now in San Diego for
IETF 60). draft-ietf-seamoby-ctp-11.txt should appear when the gate opens
(and I believe John will try to post it somewhere for people to look at in
the interim).
For draft-ietf-seamoby-card-protocol-08.txt, the following changes were
made:
1) I resolved Joel's Disucss comment by changing the units of length in all
the Seamoby sub-options to be the same, units of 8 octets. This affected
Section 5.1.2 and the 5.1.3 subsections, where the sub-options are
described.
2) I modified the Trust Anchor and Router Certificate options to include two
new fields All Components and Component to allow a MN to request individual
certificates within a certificate chain, in case they are not retransmitted.
This change was added to the SEND spec after IESG comment about being able
to perform incremental retransmission rather than have to retransmit the
entire chain. This affected Sections 5.1.3.6 and 5.1.3.7 and Section 6.4.
3) I modified the boiler plate at the beginning and end to match RFC 3668,
since I've heard that drafts are getting bounced if they don't match.
I've posted the result at
http://www.geocities.com/kempf42/draft-ietf-seamoby-card-protocol-08.txt.
Please take a look and send comments if you find anything that needs change.
I'd like to send the drafts to Allison for another (and hopefully the last!)
round of IESG review on Aug. 16. Thanx.
jak
