i don't remember the details.  the idea was very simple:

- UAS receives a call from sip:foo at bar

- UAS sends a query (INFO, OPTIONS, whatever) to sip:foo at bar and
  includes in it relevant info about the request (call-id, from uri,
  from tag, date, to uri, ...)

- when sip:foo at bar UA receives the query, it replies with 200 ok if this
  UA is currently making the call in question
