[Sipping] REGISTER vs SUBSCRIBE timing

Are there any guidelines on whether a UA should send REGISTER first or SUBSCRIBE? Does it matter how long it waits between sending these two requests? Will there by any difference, if both the requests are sent to the same SIP Serer?
