RE: shepherd e-mail addresses (was: Re: PROTO Process)

Thanks.

Many of the gen-art reviewers use the WG chairs, document author and AD
email aliases. But, some just directly pull email addresses from the
documents (for authors) and only include the sponsoring AD (and not WG
chairs). Some reviews are also sent to the WG mailing list. And, the
reviews may also be sent to IETF and IESG lists. It depends upon the
scope of the review and level of issues raised - i.e., if it's ready or
there are only nits, then the review is typically just sent to relevant
AD and authors. But, I'm not certain many (if any) get sent to the
shepherd if they're not the WG chair (but I would think WG chairs would
forward).

So, if the shepherd always needs to be in the loop, it seems gen-art
would need to make some adjustments here and the gen-art reviewers need
to look into the tracker and then follow the proto write-up link to get
the shepherd as there isn't room for that to get displayed in the
tracker itself for most documents. So, that's a bit of a pain itself and
I'm not seeing email addresses in some of these and actually there's one
that doesn't even have the proto author identified. It would be much
easier if the shepherd were listed at the top of the tracker page, in
particular if we want folks to keep them in the loop on discussions.

Point taken. I will take this up with the other ADs and see what we can
do. Where does Gen-ART normally send its reviews? Do you Cc
foowg-chairs at tools.ietf.org? The sponsoring AD?
