I'm more than a little confused about the motivation to use a mechanism 
for sidebars ("DISTSEND") that varies from the sidebar mechanisms that 
XCON will be developing.

The key benefit of session-oriented media that I have been selling 
people on is that it is treated identically to that of other media (e.g. 
voice and video). Once you start defining alternate or multiple ways to 
do things, such as sidebars, then this benefit starts to disintegrate.
