The 'correct' way is probably to use doctypes on the XML stream, but let's not go there. I'm in favor of keeping default namespaces on the toplevel element of the stream, as a way to distinguish the type of stream. I also agree that the namespace prefix shouldn't be mandatory. cheers, Remko
