"Internet Printing Protocol: Requirements for IPP Notifications", Roger Debry, Harry Lewis, Thomas Hastings, 23-Jun-04. (37749 bytes)
This document is one of a set of documents which together describe all aspects of a new Internet Printing Protocol (IPP). IPP is an application level protocol that can be used for distributed printing on the Internet. There are multiple parts to IPP, but the primary architectural components are the Model, the Protocol and an interface to Directory Services. This document provides a statement of the requirements for notifications as part of an IPP Service.
"Internet Printing Protocol (IPP): Event Notifications and Subscriptions", Robert Herriot, Thomas Hastings, 23-Jun-04. (229790 bytes)
This document describes an OPTIONAL extension to the Internet Printing Protocol/1.1: Model and Semantics (RFC 2911, RFC 2910). This extension allows a client to subscribe to printing related Events. Subscriptions are modeled as Subscription Objects. The Subscription Object specifies that when one of the specified Events occurs, the Printer sends an asynchronous Event Notification to the specified Notification Recipient via the specified Push or Pull Delivery Method (i.e., protocol). A client associates Subscription Objects with a particular Job by performing the Create-Job-Subscriptions operation or by submitting a Job with subscription information. A client associates Subscription Objects with the Printer by performing a Create-Printer-Subscriptions operation. Four other operations are defined for Subscription Objects: Get-Subscriptions-Attributes, Get-Subscriptions, Renew- Subscription, and Cancel-Subscription.
"Internet Printing Protocol(IPP): Job and Printer Administrative Operations", Carl Kugler, Harry Lewis, Thomas Hastings, 19-Jul-04. (114194 bytes)
This document specifies the following 16 additional OPTIONAL operations for use with the Internet Printing Protocol/1.0 (IPP) [RFC2565, RFC2566] and IPP/1.1 [RFC2910, RFC2911]
"Internet Printing Protocol (IPP): The 'ippget' Delivery Method for Event Notifications", Robert Herriot, Carl Kugler, Harry Lewis, 23-Jun-04. (76022 bytes)
This document describes an extension to the Internet Printing Protocol/1.1: Model and Semantics (RFC 2911, RFC 2910). This document specifies the 'ippget' Pull Delivery Method for use with the 'Internet Printing Protocol (IPP): Event Notifications and Subscriptions' specification (ipp-ntfy). This IPPGET Delivery Method is REQUIRED for all clients and Printers that support ipp-ntfy. The Notification Recipient, acting as a client, fetches (pulls) Event Notifications using the Get-Notifications operation defined in this document.
