VPN Tunneling
Existing network-based VPNs are implemented through some form of tunneling mechanism.
Different tunneling mechanisms can be used (e.g., MPLS, IPSec, GRE, etc.).
The VR architecture accommodates per VPN tunnels, or using shared tunnels across the backbone.
Tunneling mechanism can be independent of the actual backbone transport technology.
