- Unless we Rely on Lower Level Detection; Not Always Possible
- More Frequent SPF Calculation (Sub-Second Hold-down Timer ?)
Goal 2: Stable Network Even As it Gets Large
- Ability to Withstand Control Message (LSA) Storms Due To
- Trunk/Node Failures
- Synchronization of LSA Refreshes
- Software Upgrades requiring Warm/Cold Reboots
- Refresh of All LSAs Due to Software Version Change
The Two Goals Above are Conflicting
Marking and Prioritized Treatment of Specific Packets Would Help Both
