- PacketCable MIBs comply with SMIv2; the components pertaining to the data part of a PacketCable 1.x network (CM, CMTS) reuse DOCSIS MIBs [RFC 2669]
- Packetcable MIB access is secured using SNMPv3 with Authentication always turned on and Privacy being optional
- Packetcable MIBs support both embedded and standalone MTAs
