• Co-locate tracking function as well as DMA function with IP mobility management (e.g. TA+DMA co-located with HA)

  • Requires coordination with mobility management, but reduces amount of info to be managed for fail-over handling.

• Again: “Placement of TA shall consider balance of signaling load (registration & paging), L2 technology characteristics, MN’s mobility behavior…”

  • … more critical (inter-domain signaling, L2 support for location tracking difficult)
