Call for Comments on ORCHIDs (draft-laganier-ipv6-khi-05.txt) Relates to the HIP experiment from HIP WG/RG Proposes the allocation of a /28 from IPv6 address space for “identifiers” that will be used on socket API instead of regular addresses on experimenting hosts Long-term plan is to upgrade the API, but running the experiments is easier with “vanilla” applications. Two issues: meta-experiment allows for multiple uses of this allocation & leakage in v6 slots (SDP, URIs) OTOH we need experimentation in this space Ongoing IETF Last Call discussion at ietf@ietf.org |
