Older IETF Operational Notes

The IETF process is governed by a set of process-oriented BCPs. The IESG, working with the IASA, approves various operational procedures within the policies set by those BCPs. The following older Operational Notes describe many of those procedures in detail. More recent IETF Operational Notes (IONs) can be found here.

Comments from the community on these Notes are always welcome, either on practical details, or on possible incompatibilities with the process BCPs. Small comments should be sent to chair@ietf.org, discussion points to iesg@ietf.org or ietf@ietf.org.
