Compared to LMP Test Procedure Automatic discovery: local/remote interface mappings done by sending in-band messages that contain the local interface identifiers. Test procedure: to support interfaces with multiple termination capabilities (i.e., encoding type, transport mechanism, bandwidth, etc.), use of negotiation phase to agree upon the Test procedure parameters => first establishing (in-band or out-of-band) control channel, and then discovery of data interface connectivity according to the negotiated parameters Note: when control channel is in-band, existing Config message exchange can be used to bootstrap control channel AND exchange local interface mappings |
