Draft overview “Label Set” in the GMPLS RSVP-TE draft for only downstream path Bi-directional path Downstream path can use Label Set. Upstream path cannot use Label Set. Different labels may be assigned for downstream and upstream paths. Problem to be solved Blocking for upstream path highly occurs, when label assignment is limited in an intermediate node (e. g., due to wavelength conversion capability) . To reduce high blocking probability for bi-directional path, an Upstream Label Set is required in the same way as the Label Set for downstream.
