  • New Bridge Identifier encoding
    • 4-bit priority, 12-bit system-ID extension, 48-bit Bridge Address
  • New Port Identifier encoding
    • 4-bit priority, 12-bit Port number
  • Bridge Detection state machine
    • Edge Port identification
  • Path Cost default values
    • switch between old and new default values

• Not included in new MIBs:

  • Restricted Group Address registration (§10.3.2.3, §14.10.1)
    • per port restriction to allow only pre-configured addresses
    • should be in U-BRIDGE-MIB
  • Notify Group Registration Failure (§14.10.1.2)
  • support for IEEE 802.1X Port Based Network Access Control
    • MIB defined in IEEE 802.1X standard
