    1. The minutes of the August 8 teleconference were approved. Steve to
    place in Shadow directories.

    2. The IESG approved publication of INTERNET MESSAGE ACCESS PROTOCOL -
    VERSION 4 <draft-crispin-imap-base-05.txt> as a Proposed Standard.
    The IESG also approved publication of the following two documents
    as Informational RFCs:

    IMAP4 COMPATIBILITY WITH IMAP2BIS
    <draft-crispin-imap-compat-00.txt>
    INTERNET MESSAGE ACCESS PROTOCOL - OBSOLETE SYNTAX
    <draft-crispin-imap-obsolete-00.txt>

    Steve to send announcement.

    3. The IESG approved publication of the MIME set as Draft Standards.
    The documents in this set are:

    <draft-ietf-822ext-mime-imb-07.txt>
    MIME Part Two: Media Types
    <draft-ietf-822ext-mime-imt-05.txt>
    MIME Part Three: Message Header Extensions for Non-ASCII Text
    <draft-ietf-822ext-mime-hdrs-00.txt>
    MIME Part Five: Conformance Criteria and Examples

    The IESG also approved publication of MIME Part Four: Registration
    Procedures <draft-ietf-822ext-mime-reg-04.txt> as a BCP RFC. Steve

    It was noted that while there are multiple implementations of all

    approved the specifications, but noted that each option will be
    carefully examined prior to another standards track action.

    a Proposed Standard. Steve to send announcement.

    7. The IESG approved publication of Domain Name System Security
    Extensions <draft-ietf-dnssec-secext-10.txt> as a Proposed
    Standard. Steve to send announcement.

    A number of editorial concerns were raised, though not serious
    enough to prevent approval. Jeff Schiller will convey these items
    to the author, noting that they should be resolved prior to
    submission for Draft Standard.

    8. The IESG approved publication of The PPP Internetwork Packet
    Exchange Control Protocol <rfc1552> as a Draft Standard. Steve to
    send announcement.

    Service <draft-ietf-radius-radius-05.txt> as a Proposed Standard.

    GUIDELINES <draft-hubbard-registry-guidelines-05.txt> pending the
    conposition of text for the IESG comment which will include a
    sunset clause (point in future when document will reviewed. Once
    the IESG note is written, and each of the dissenters convey their
    acceptance, Steve will send announcement

    Experimental Protocols:

    o Traffic Flow Measurement: Architecture
    <draft-ietf-rtfm-acct-arch-report-01.txt>
    o Traffic Flow Measurement: Meter MIB
    <draft-ietf-rtfm-acct-meter-mib-01.txt>

    15. The IESG approved publication of UTF-8, a transformation format of
    Unicode and ISO 10646 <draft-yergeau-utf8-01.txt> as an
    Informational RFC. Steve to send announcement.

    (ftpext) WG in the Application Area. Charter is to be modified to
    include text addressing the problems of restarts and the use of IP
    addresses. When the ADs provide the text, Steve will review to
    ensure the required parts are included. If so, the WG will begin.

    20. The IESG deferred action on the set of security related
    Internet-Drafts submitted for publication as Experimental RFCs. The
    consensus of the IESG was to coordinate actions on all other
    security-related documents.

    21. The IESG will meet in the Santa Barbara on October 21-22.

    22. Steve reported that the timeline for the San Jose part deux IETF
    meeting have been set. Will send critical dates to WG Chairs and
    the IESG. Steve reminded the IESG that a scheduling announcement
    will be sent to the IESG a week before being sent to the WG Chairs.
    This will (HOPEFULLY :-) assist in the development of Area tracks.
