    1. The minutes of the IESG teleconference on September 5 were
    approved. Steve to place in IETF shadow directories.

    2. The IESG approved publication of IMAP/POP AUTHorize Extension for
    Simple Challenge/Response <draft-klensin-cram-02.txt> as a Proposed
    Standard. However, as it is dependent on HMAC-IP Authentication
    with Replay Prevention <draft-ietf-ipsec-hmac-md5-00.txt>, the
    announcement will not be sent until the hmac document is approved.

    3. The IESG approved publication of The Model Primary Content Type for
    MIME <draft-nelson-model-mail-ext-05.txt> as a Proposed Standard.
    Steve to send announcement.

    4. The IESG approved publication of Definition of X.500 Attribute
    Types and an Object Class to Hold Uniform Resource Identifiers
    (URIs) <draft-ietf-asid-x500-url-03.txt> as a Proposed Standard.
    Steve to send announcement.

    5. The IESG approved publication of IRTF Research Group Guidelines and
    Procedures <draft-weinrib-irtf-guidelines-00.txt> as a BCP. Steve
    to send announcement.

    6. There was some discussion on the IESG note which was included in
    the Protocol Action announcement for the Hubbard document. It was
    suggested that the text be rephrased. Allison to provide text to
    serve as a starting point. Steve will send a note to RFC Editor
    requesting they not publish until the discussions are concluded.

    7. The IESG approved the formation of the Uniform Resource Names WG
    (urn) in the Applications Area.

    8. The IESG approved the formation of the IP over Cable Data Network
    WG (ipcdn) in the Internet Area.

    9. The IESG approved publication of Mobility Support for Nimrod:
    Requirements and Solution Approaches
    <draft-ietf-nimrod-mobility-02.txt,.ps> as an Informational RFC,
    but noted that the title needs to be changed (the word Requirements
    not permitted in Informational RFCs). As Joel was not able to
    particiapte in the call, Steve will work with him off-line.

    10. The IESG approved publication of Multicast Support for Nimrod:
    Requirements and Solution Approaches
    <draft-ietf-nimrod-multicast-02.txt,.ps> as an Informational RFC,
    but noted that the title needs to be changed (the word Requirements
    not permitted in Informational RFCs). As Joel was not able to
    particiapte in the call, Steve will work with him off-line.

    11. The IESG approved publication of Network Renumbering Overview
    <draft-ietf-pier-renum-ovrvw-02.txt> as an Informational RFC. Steve
    to send announcement.

    12. The IESG had no problem with the publication of Mapping SNMPv2 onto
    SNMPv1 within a bi-lingual SNMP agent
    <draft-rfced-info-wijnen-00.txt> as an Informational RFC. Steve to
    send note to RFC Editor.

    13. Action on IP Echo Host Service <draft-rfced-exp-partridge-00.txt>
    was deferred to give time for Jeff Schiller to review from a security
    perspective.

    14. Steve reported that the WG Training session will be permanently
    rescheduled to Monday noon at IETF meetings. As an experiment, box
    lunches will be made available. To avoid 600 potential WG chairs,
    this will be limited to existing WG Chairs, BOF chairs, and
    potential chairs recommended by IESG members who reserve a lunch in
    advance.
