Hi Gonzalo,

In my opinion yes

BR,
Samu

Lainaus Gonzalo Camarillo <Gonzalo.Camarillo@ericsson.com>:

Hi Samu,

to be clear, you are saying that the draft is ready for Working Group
Last Call, is that right?

Thanks,

Gonzalo

Hi,

to my knowledge rfc6253-bis does not need changes to work with rfc7401.
Review and comments would still be welcome.

Hi Samu,

thanks for having revised RFC6253bis:

Could you please let us know the current status of the draft now that it
has been revised? That is, what needs to happen next and what is needed
overall before the draft is ready for WGLC.

Cheers,

Gonzalo

Authors of RFC5203bis and RFC6253bis,

the RFC5203bis document has a Normative reference to RFC6263bis:

https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-hip-rfc5203-bis-08#section-3.3

https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-ietf-hip-rfc6253-bis-01

RFC 6253bis is an expired document. First we need to revise it so that
it re-appears in the IETF archives. Additionally, since it is a
normative dependency of RFC5203bis, we should include it in the
publication batch we are currently working on (RFC5203bis, RFC5204bis,
and RFC5205bis).

Authors of RFC6253, could you please provide the WG with am update on
your plans to revise this document?

Authors of RFC5203bis, could you please update the following outdated
reference?

    draft-ietf-hip-rfc5201-bis -> RFC 7401

Thanks,

Gonzalo

I'm wondering about whether this meets the criteria. On the one hand, this is a mainstream state transition (I1-SENT gets to I2-SENT upon receiving an R1, not an R2). On the other hand, this section is clearly informational (section 4.4) and the transition is correctly noted in the Table 3 in this section (also informative) and in the normative Section 6.8. So, I wonder whether this is in the category of "could cause significant confusion" or rather whether an implementer would just recognize this as an obvious typo in conflict with other parts of the specification. Any opinions about this? - Tom On 06/29/2015 01:36 PM, Gonzalo Camarillo wrote:> Yes, please log an erratum. > > Thanks, > > Gonzalo > > On 29/06/2015 11:20 PM, Tom Henderson wrote: >> >> >> On 06/28/2015 09:51 AM, Darren Lissimore wrote:> Hey all; >>> >>> Read through 7401, got to section 4.4.4 >>> page 36. >>> There's an error in the transition from I1-SENT to I2-SENT >>> . >>> The draft has it as recv R2, send I2 and >>> it >>> should be >>> probably be >>> recv R1, send I2 >>> as per Table 3 page 29 "recevie r1, process" trigger. >>> >>> Darren Lissimore ---1903409400-1521102189-1435935865=:21265-- From nobody Fri Jul 3 12:24:40 2015 Return-Path: X-Original-To: hipsec@ietfa.amsl.com Delivered-To: hipsec@ietfa.amsl.com Received: from localhost (ietfa.amsl.com [127.0.0.1]) by ietfa.amsl.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id F319A1A6F39 for ; Fri, 3 Jul 2015 12:24:39 -0700 (PDT) X-Virus-Scanned: amavisd-new at amsl.com X-Spam-Flag: NO X-Spam-Score: -104.2 X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, score=-104.2 tagged_above=-999 required=5 tests=[BAYES_00=-1.9, HTML_MESSAGE=0.001, RCVD_IN_DNSWL_MED=-2.3, SPF_PASS=-0.001, USER_IN_WHITELIST=-100] autolearn=ham Received: from mail.ietf.org ([4.31.198.44]) by localhost (ietfa.amsl.com [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id Up1Isprc57dz for ; Fri, 3 Jul 2015 12:24:38 -0700 (PDT) Received: from sessmg23.ericsson.net (sessmg23.ericsson.net [193.180.251.45]) (using TLSv1 with cipher DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA (256/256 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by ietfa.amsl.com (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 62B7F1A6F30 for ; Fri, 3 Jul 2015 12:24:37 -0700 (PDT) X-AuditID: c1b4fb2d-f79176d00000321c-27-5596e1724bbc Received: from ESESSHC008.ericsson.se (Unknown_Domain [153.88.253.124]) by sessmg23.ericsson.net (Symantec Mail Security) with SMTP id 13.C7.12828.271E6955; Fri, 3 Jul 2015 21:24:35 +0200 (CEST) Received: from ESESSMB207.ericsson.se ([169.254.7.244]) by ESESSHC008.ericsson.se ([153.88.183.42]) with mapi id 14.03.0210.002; Fri, 3 Jul 2015 21:24:33 +0200 From: Gonzalo Camarillo To: Tom Henderson Thread-Topic: [Hipsec] Minor correction to rfc7401 4.4.4 state machine Thread-Index: AQHQtaIXxLetKz8g90+qHAFzGugcX53KIIQx Date: Fri, 3 Jul 2015 19:24:33 +0000 Message-ID: References: In-Reply-To: Accept-Language: en-US, es-ES Content-Language: en-US X-MS-Has-Attach: X-MS-TNEF-Correlator: Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="_000_ororae35mhvddokj89i3su9m1435951468706emailandroidcom_" MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Brightmail-Tracker: H4sIAAAAAAAAA+NgFvrGLMWRmVeSWpSXmKPExsUyM+JvjW7xw2mhBivtLKYumsxsMfP8QTYH Jo8lS34yebRcjwlgiuKySUnNySxLLdK3S+DKeNk3k63grFHF6VXnWBsYJxt2MXJySAiYSEw5 +5cVwhaTuHBvPVsXIxeHkMBRRolXqxcwQTiLGSVuXLkEVMXBwSZgIdGx2gykQURAR+LSiy1g zcwC6hLNveeYQGxhAVeJc9shbBEBN4mNn++yQdhGElM7D7GD2CwCKhIvpr1kBLF5gWouPdoO ZgsJeEps/DcLrIZTwEvi4IxjLCA2o4CsxLv586F2iUvcejKfCeJoAYkle84zQ9iiEi8f/4Oq yZHou7afGWK+oMTJmU9YJjCKzELSPgtJ2SwkZbOAvmQW0JRYv0sfokRRYkr3Q3YIW0Oidc5c dmTxBYzsqxhFi1OLi3PTjYz1Uosyk4uL8/P08lJLNjECI+rglt+6OxhXv3Y8xCjAwajEw7vg zdRQIdbEsuLK3EOM0hwsSuK8MzbnhQoJpCeWpGanphakFsUXleakFh9iZOLglGpg5E8rDJHo 9skOWe601Zfvzd5oSaf7S142HXKP7HD/HX/FtODWib+S2mwNZ2OudjRkVFpv/b742NqjC+qZ XK2kmAvu6eZNWdif+8uCMfxstvkpicNvogq62UQlUnk3PfqRwGNRb7z+xtYSxZ0XxL8+Ej65 85rJrNkbLH5uuSzFuN/vquH38tLdSizFGYmGWsxFxYkAMQfioIkCAAA= Archived-At: Cc: "hipsec@ietf.org" Subject: Re: [Hipsec] Minor correction to rfc7401 4.4.4 state machine X-BeenThere: hipsec@ietf.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.15 Precedence: list List-Id: "This is the official IETF Mailing List for the HIP Working Group." The set of such errata provides the preparers of the next revision with a convenient, easy-to-find list of "things to fix". No one is going to go through the entire email archive of hipsec to (re)discover the error that you are now reporting, but if it is in the errata list, it will be easy to find when the time comes. Abstract:
This document specifies the Host Identity Protocol Diet EXchange (HIP
DEX), a variant of the Host Identity Protocol Version 2 (HIPv2). The
HIP DEX protocol design aims at reducing the overhead of the employed
cryptographic primitives by omitting public-key signatures and hash
functions. In doing so, the main goal is to still deliver similar
   security properties to HIPv2.

The HIP DEX protocol is primarily designed for computation or memory-
constrained sensor/actuator devices. Like HIPv2, it is expected to
be used together with a suitable security protocol such as the
Encapsulated Security Payload (ESP) for the protection of upper layer
protocol data. In addition, HIP DEX can also be used as a keying
mechanism for security primitives at the MAC layer, e.g., for IEEE
   802.15.4 networks.

Please note that it may take a couple of minutes from the time of submission
until the htmlized version and diff are available at tools.ietf.org.

This draft is a work item of the Host Identity Protocol Working Group of the IETF. Title : Host Mobility with the Host Identity Protocol Authors : Thomas R. Henderson Christian Vogt Jari Arkko Filename : draft-ietf-hip-rfc5206-bis-09.txt Pages : 34 Date : 2015-07-22 Abstract: This document defines mobility extensions to the Host Identity Protocol (HIP). Specifically, this document defines a general "LOCATOR_SET" parameter for HIP messages that allows for a HIP host to notify peers about alternate addresses at which it may be reached. This document also defines elements of procedure for mobility of a HIP host -- the process by which a host dynamically changes the primary locator that it uses to receive packets. While the same LOCATOR_SET parameter can also be used to support end-host multihoming, detailed procedures are out of scope for this document. This document obsoletes RFC 5206. It is mostly unchanged from RFC6253, and I am fine with proceeding once the nits are fixed. - references to RFC4843 should be replaced by references to RFC7343 - IANA considerations section should be redone; since you are not introducing any new parameters, you should just ask IANA to replace references to RFC6253 (for the CERT parameter, Certificate Types, and Notify Message Types) with references to this specification. - in Section 3, replace IP Address:2001:2C:5a14:26de:a07c:385b:de35:60e3 with IP Address:2001:2c:5a14:26de:a07c:385b:de35:60e3 Tom From nobody Wed Jul 22 17:23:08 2015 Return-Path: X-Original-To: hipsec@ietfa.amsl.com Delivered-To: hipsec@ietfa.amsl.com Received: from localhost (ietfa.amsl.com [127.0.0.1]) by ietfa.amsl.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id E08E21B2FE2 for ; Wed, 22 Jul 2015 17:23:06 -0700 (PDT) X-Virus-Scanned: amavisd-new at amsl.com X-Spam-Flag: NO X-Spam-Score: -2.6 X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, score=-2.6 tagged_above=-999 required=5 tests=[BAYES_00=-1.9, RCVD_IN_DNSWL_LOW=-0.7, SPF_PASS=-0.001, UNPARSEABLE_RELAY=0.001] autolearn=ham Received: from mail.ietf.org ([4.31.198.44]) by localhost (ietfa.amsl.com [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id SiAchjL7JOsM for ; Wed, 22 Jul 2015 17:23:05 -0700 (PDT) Received: from mxout22.s.uw.edu (mxout22.s.uw.edu [128.95.242.222]) (using TLSv1.2 with cipher ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)) (No client certificate requested) by ietfa.amsl.com (Postfix) with ESMTPS id AF4BF1A8862 for ; Wed, 22 Jul 2015 17:23:05 -0700 (PDT) Received: from hymn02.u.washington.edu (hymn02.u.washington.edu [140.142.8.71]) by mxout22.s.uw.edu (8.14.4+UW14.03/8.14.4+UW15.02) with ESMTP id t6N0MQkN014007 (version=TLSv1/SSLv3 cipher=DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA bits=256 verify=NO) for ; Wed, 22 Jul 2015 17:22:26 -0700 Received: from hymn02.u.washington.edu (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by hymn02.u.washington.edu (8.14.4+UW14.03/8.14.4+UW14.04) with ESMTP id t6N0MNXW028208 for ; Wed, 22 Jul 2015 17:22:23 -0700 Received: from localhost (Unknown UID 20280@localhost) by hymn02.u.washington.edu (8.14.4+UW14.03/8.14.4+Submit-local) with ESMTP id t6N0MN5Z028205 for ; Wed, 22 Jul 2015 17:22:23 -0700 X-Auth-Received: from [73.181.150.17] by hymn02.u.washington.edu via HTTP; Wed, 22 Jul 2015 17:22:23 PDT Date: Wed, 22 Jul 2015 17:22:23 -0700 (PDT) From: Tom Henderson To: hipsec@ietf.org Message-ID: User-Agent: Web Alpine 2.01 (LRH 1302 2010-07-20) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8BIT X-PMX-Version: 6.0.3.2322014, Antispam-Engine: 2.7.2.2107409, Antispam-Data: 2015.7.23.1216 X-PMX-Server: mxout22.s.uw.edu X-Uwash-Spam: Gauge=X, Probability=10%, Report=' TO_IN_SUBJECT 0.5, HTML_00_01 0.05, HTML_00_10 0.05, BODYTEXTP_SIZE_3000_LESS 0, BODY_SIZE_1000_LESS 0, BODY_SIZE_2000_LESS 0, BODY_SIZE_5000_LESS 0, BODY_SIZE_600_699 0, BODY_SIZE_7000_LESS 0, __ANY_URI 0, __BOUNCE_CHALLENGE_SUBJ 0, __BOUNCE_NDR_SUBJ_EXEMPT 0, __CP_URI_IN_BODY 0, __CT 0, __CTE 0, __CT_TEXT_PLAIN 0, __FORWARDED_MSG 0, __HAS_FROM 0, __HAS_MSGID 0, __HTTPS_URI 0, __MIME_TEXT_ONLY 0, __MIME_VERSION 0, __MULTIPLE_URI_IN_BODY 0, __SANE_MSGID 0, __SUBJ_ALPHA_NEGATE 0, __TO_IN_SUBJECT 0, __TO_MALFORMED_2 0, __TO_NO_NAME 0, __URI_IN_BODY 0, __URI_NO_WWW 0, __URI_NS , __USER_AGENT 0' Archived-At: Subject: Re: [Hipsec] I-D Action: draft-ietf-hip-rfc5206-bis-09.txt X-BeenThere: hipsec@ietf.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.15 Precedence: list List-Id: "This is the official IETF Mailing List for the HIP Working Group." List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Mon, 27 Jul 2015 08:54:24 -0000 A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories. This draft is a work item of the Host Identity Protocol Working Group of the IETF. Title : Host Identity Protocol Certificates Authors : Tobias Heer Samu Varjonen Filename : draft-ietf-hip-rfc6253-bis-03.txt Pages : 11 Date : 2015-07-27 Abstract: The Certificate (CERT) parameter is a container for digital certificates. It is used for carrying these certificates in Host Identity Protocol (HIP) control packets. This document specifies the certificate parameter and the error signaling in case of a failed verification. Additionally, this document specifies the representations of Host Identity Tags in X.509 version 3 (v3) and Simple Public Key Infrastructure (SPKI) certificates. The concrete use cases of certificates, including how certificates are obtained, requested, and which actions are taken upon successful or failed verification, are specific to the scenario in which the certificates are used. Hence, the definition of these scenario- specific aspects is left to the documents that use the CERT parameter. This document extends [RFC7401].
