Where online can I see the outstanding bugs against the > Beta Tracker? There's no issue tracker specifically for this; so far it has worked very well to have issues reported on iola-conversion@ietf.org (web archive: http://www.ietf.org/mail-archive/web/iola-conversion-tool/) where the contractor acks and reports fixes in a very timely manner. We can of course add formal issue tracking, but as long as turnaround on all bugs reported are hours, I don't see that it really adds value; but it *will* add work both for the contractor and myself. In the past you mentioned running incremental > migrations. Will this result in an accurate copy of production? I'm currently running only differential conversions, covering documents and associated tables. I plan on running one complete conversion every night beween 01:00 and 02:30 (approximately) PST. The differential conversions will not (at the moment) catch stuff which isn't related to documents, but looking at the daily changes, non-document-related changes are very few. > I am > thinking of ancillary objects that have been created in ietf_new, > like DocEvent objects, and other objects who's state has been > changed. Wouldn't these remain after an incremental import? Yes, I guess they might, so just before the switch-over we'll need to run one last full conversion. > - do you expect downtime? I'm a bit undecided on this, but leaning towards 'No'. From the mysql's bin-log we can see the exact events that might have been applied to the old tracker during the last conversion run, and not been caught by it, and handle those manually. But my guess is that if we do the switch-over right after the nightly run there won't be anything left which hasn't been handled by the full conversion plus the differential document conversion. > - Ole has provided me with an import script for the extra tables we have been > using for Interim Meetings (they reside in a separate database). I don't think it matters greatly, but it would maybe be safest to make that script part of the complete conversion so we have some experience with running that, too, in conjunction with the rest? On the other hand, if we instead run it after the last full migration that should work fine, too. > - what time of day / day of week are you planning on for the final cutover? I'd prefer the time I mentioned above, during a Saturday. > - there are various script outside of datatracker (cron, cgi-bin) > which access the database, some are secretariat tools that I am > familiar with, they should go away. Is there an inventory/migration > plan for these programs as well? We've over the last 3 years run repeated inventorys of these, and there should be no cgi-bin scripts left now, assuming you've taken care of what I think was the last public one, the materials upload. The cron scripts I know about have all been converted to Django/Python and should continue to work (except that some of them, like some mirroring scripts, should be meaningless). I hope I've covered most, let me know if you think of more points related to this :-) Best regards, Henrik From conte@isoc.org Wed Feb 15 09:08:55 2012 Return-Path: X-Original-To: tools-development@ietfa.amsl.com Delivered-To: tools-development@ietfa.amsl.com Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by ietfa.amsl.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id BEC1421E804F for ; Wed, 15 Feb 2012 09:08:55 -0800 (PST) X-Virus-Scanned: amavisd-new at amsl.com X-Spam-Flag: NO X-Spam-Score: -100.999 X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, score=-100.999 tagged_above=-999 required=5 tests=[BAYES_50=0.001, RCVD_IN_DNSWL_LOW=-1, USER_IN_WHITELIST=-100] Received: from mail.ietf.org ([12.22.58.30]) by localhost (ietfa.amsl.com [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id gDuAJJiQCO3T for ; Wed, 15 Feb 2012 09:08:54 -0800 (PST) Received: from smtp124.iad.emailsrvr.com (smtp124.iad.emailsrvr.com [207.97.245.124]) by ietfa.amsl.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 5DFAF21E8067 for ; Wed, 15 Feb 2012 09:08:54 -0800 (PST) Received: from localhost (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) by smtp52.relay.iad1a.emailsrvr.com (SMTP Server) with ESMTP id DEACC2405E2 for ; Wed, 15 Feb 2012 12:08:53 -0500 (EST) X-Virus-Scanned: OK Received: by smtp52.relay.iad1a.emailsrvr.com (Authenticated sender: conte-AT-isoc.org) with ESMTPSA id 467762405A1 for ; Wed, 15 Feb 2012 12:08:51 -0500 (EST) From: Steve Conte Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Date: Wed, 15 Feb 2012 09:08:45 -0800 Message-Id: To: tools-development@ietf.org Mime-Version: 1.0 (Apple Message framework v1251.1) X-Mailer: Apple Mail (2.1251.1) Subject: [TOOLS-DEVELOPMENT] Tools Call - 15 Feb 2012 X-BeenThere: tools-development@ietf.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.12 Precedence: list List-Id: Tools Development list server List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 15 Feb 2012 17:08:56 -0000 Tools Call - 15 Feb 2012 Attendees: Henrik Levkowetz Steve Conte Ryan Cross Bob Hinden Robert Sparks Russ Housley Ray Pelletier Alice Hagens Steve Young Peter Saint-Andre=20 Alexa Morris Glen Barney Agenda: 1. If so, here are a few comments: - whatever is running there uses an outdated version of rfc2629.xslt (" Revision 1.539, 2011-01-02") - the content is served as text/html but actually is XHTML, causing validation errors in the browser - it appears the content actually has been post-processed by some tool, causing some things to break; for instance the @profile attribute has been mangled (if you want XHTML, don't use rfc2629.xslt and post-process it but run rfc2629toXHTML.xslt instead) And one question: why do certain HTML links on tools.ietf.org 404? For instance: http://tools.ietf.org/id/draft-ietf-httpbis-p1-messaging-18.html Best regards, Julian From iad@ietf.org Wed Feb 29 07:43:56 2012 Return-Path: X-Original-To: tools-development@ietfa.amsl.com Delivered-To: tools-development@ietfa.amsl.com Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by ietfa.amsl.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id D56C821F871B; Wed, 29 Feb 2012 07:43:56 -0800 (PST) X-Virus-Scanned: amavisd-new at amsl.com X-Spam-Flag: NO X-Spam-Score: -102.599 X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, score=-102.599 tagged_above=-999 required=5 tests=[BAYES_00=-2.599, USER_IN_WHITELIST=-100] Received: from mail.ietf.org ([12.22.58.30]) by localhost (ietfa.amsl.com [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with ESMTP id yzKmuuKSizzP; Wed, 29 Feb 2012 07:43:56 -0800 (PST) Received: from ietfa.amsl.com (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by ietfa.amsl.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3F30121F8718; Wed, 29 Feb 2012 07:43:56 -0800 (PST) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable From: IETF Administrative Director To: IETF Announcement List X-Test-IDTracker: no X-IETF-IDTracker: 4.00 Message-ID: <20120229154356.16678.32244.idtracker@ietfa.amsl.com> Date: Wed, 29 Feb 2012 07:43:56 -0800 Cc: iaoc@ietf.org, iesg@ietf.org, wgchairs@ietf.org, tools-development@ietf.org Subject: [TOOLS-DEVELOPMENT] RFI: Agenda Tool X-BeenThere: tools-development@ietf.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.12 Precedence: list List-Id: Tools Development list server List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 29 Feb 2012 15:43:57 -0000 This is a Request for Information (RFI).
