NSF Transition and Implementation Plan Presented by Peter Ford/LANL and Yakov Rekhter/IBM Biography: Peter S. Ford is a member of the technical staff at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). He co-chairs the TUBA Working Group with Mark Knopper at Merit. Mr. Ford currently works for the National Science Foundation on the NSFNET project and on internetworking projects at LANL. Biography: Yakov Rekhter received his M.S. in Physics from St. Petersburg (Leningrad) University, Russia (USSR), his M.S. in Computer Science from New York University, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Polytechnic University. Yakov is a manager of Open System Architecture group at the T.J. Watson Research Center, IBM Corporation. He is a Chair of the BGP Working Group of IETF and a member of the Internet Architecture Board. He is one of the principle designers and implementors of the NSFNET Backbone routing architecture and protocols. He is a co-PI (together with Jon Postel (ISI) and Deborah Estrin (USC)) on the Routing Arbiter component of the new NSFNET.
