Datagram Congestion Control Protocol WG (dccp) Wednesday, July 16 at 1300-1500 ================================= CHAIR: Aaron Falk The DCCP working group is scheduled to hold a design review at the Vienna IETF. Background on the DCCP working group and the problem the protocol is addressing can be found in [1] and [2]. A short, 9 page summary of the protocol can be found at [0]. This working group is following an aggressive schedule of about 18 months, hoping to publish the spec this November. The three specification documents are fairly stable and we are near completion of an expert review of the spec documents. The purpose of holding a design review at this time is to surface any remaining issues which may reveal themselves to the larger IETF community. AGENDA 10 min - intro, ground rules, charter review 40 min - spec walkthrough - questions only by reviewers - focus on clarification and identification of issues, not resolving them - current specs versions are [3], [4], and [5] 10 min - summary of provocative/significant comments from written reviews - intent is to frame open discussion -- two reviews have already been posted to wg mail list 45 min - open discussion - strong encouragement that significant issues/comments be written up by commenter to list (in real time would be good) 10 min - reviewer feedback - want quick rundown from reviewers: What must be done before spec can progress? (followup with written note to list) 5 min - wrap-up next steps ============================================================ [0] http://www.icir.org/kohler/dccp/summary.ps http://www.icir.org/kohler/dccp/summary.pdf [1] http://www.ietf.org/html.charters/dccp-charter.html [2] http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-dccp-problem-00.txt [3] http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-dccp-spec-04.txt [4] http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-dccp-ccid2-03.txt [5] http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-dccp-ccid3-03.txt
