OPS-DIR, Authors, I have reviewed draft-ietf-stox-chat-10, as part of Last Call reviews provided by OPS-Dir. The memo seems ready to publish, as it is one in a series of memos intended to provide gateway functionality between XMPP and SIP protocols. The Core spec for this interworking has already been approved: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7247 as has interworking for presence: http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7248 This memo covers chat interworking between XMPP and SIP-based Message Session Relay Protocol (MSRP) [RFC4975]. In my mostly un-washed opinion (limited SIP background, zero XMPP), the interworking aspects appear clearly described and ready to publish. In an OPS-DIR review, we must ask about manageability. The approved presence and chat interworking functions require gateways. However, there don't appear to be any drafts in-progress or mention of management of the gateway functions in the RFCs. Perhaps the -stox-chat authors or others would care to comment on XMPP-SIP gateway manageability, and where that might be covered. thanks and regards, Al
