[22:22:09] <yngve_n_pettersen> mic: Server selected by user: This will have the same problem as things like convergence&co, in most cases it will be the client doing the selection of servers, not the user.

[23:43:47] <Robin Wilton> "kudos" is not the plural of "kudo" :^(
[23:43:59] Dominik Elsbroek leaves the room
[23:44:14] <barryleiba> It is not. But it's only we pedants who know that.
[23:49:57] <hildjj> Some commentators hold that since kudos is a singular word it cannot be used as a plural and that the word kudo is impossible. But kudo does exist; it is simply one of the most recent words created by back-formation from another word misunderstood as a plural. Kudos was introduced into English in the 19th century; it was used in contexts where a reader unfamiliar with Greek could not be sure whether it was singular or plural. By the 1920s it began to appear as a plural, and about 25 years later kudo began to appear. It may have begun as a misunderstanding, but then so didcherry and pea.
[23:51:13] <barryleiba> Grumble.
[23:51:34] <barryleiba> Pedants don't brook that sort of hooey.

[23:55:34] <sftcd1> feel free to propose topics folks
[23:55:49] <hildjj> On the stickling topic, I apologize to the log.
