[08:00:55] jimsch1 joins the room
[08:01:45] <jimsch1> Starting Meeting - Doing Admnistrative things
[08:03:11] <jimsch1> Data model Presentation from Danny
[08:03:24] <jimsch1> If you are on meetecho then you should be able to see the slides as presented
[08:05:59] Takeshi Takahashi leaves the room
[08:06:58] <jimsch1> Jessica:  Is the sound ok
[08:08:24] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> Yup, sound is good. Thank you!
[08:19:17] Kathleen Moriarty joins the room
[08:20:14] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> question for Danny: have you determined what parts of our (very large) information model this discussion applies to? Or does it apply to the entire information model?
[08:20:57] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> hi, Danny!!!!
[08:21:07] <Adam Montville> :-)
[08:21:23] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> partially :)
[08:21:52] <jimsch1> I think that the answer is - it needs to apply to the entire IM, but it may also apply to parts of the IM as well - i.e. just the SWID section
[08:21:53] Takeshi Takahashi joins the room
[08:22:18] Chris Inacio joins the room
[08:22:45] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> Jim, I am not sure I interpreted it the same way. I would think of SWIDs as expressing software identity, which is part of, but not the whole of, configuration.
[08:23:29] <jimsch1> Jessica: Yes, but it might be that you want to serialize out just that small section.
[08:24:00] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> True. It would be interesting to pull out fields from our information model that we would want to serialize.
[08:25:04] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> Is YANG used exclusively for network equipment?
[08:25:51] <jimsch1> No YANG is being used in a large number of other enviornments now.  CORE is looking at doing YANG for doing alot of data representation that is not network based
[08:26:15] <jimsch1> A number of groups are looking at YANG as a data model descriptor
[08:26:24] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> that is interesting, thanks, Jim
[08:30:15] Chris Inacio joins the room
[08:31:45] Chris Inacio leaves the room
[08:33:01] <Kathleen Moriarty> YANG is being used outside of IETF as well
[08:33:23] <Kathleen Moriarty> IEEE and non-standards models are also in development
[08:34:10] Takeshi Takahashi leaves the room
[08:34:11] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> I knew it was used heavily in openConfig, but I guess I had always thought that was for network equipment exclusively. Good to know its getting more widespread attention. . . .
[08:35:14] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> hummmmm
[08:35:55] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> defer
[08:40:50] Takeshi Takahashi joins the room
[08:52:30] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> hum to move on
[09:03:14] Takeshi Takahashi leaves the room
[09:05:06] <Karen O'Donoghue> how's the remote experience today, Jessica?
[09:05:59] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> its good! thanks, Karen. :)
[09:06:24] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> not sure what is different, but this is the first meeting that I haven't had to reconnect a thousand times
[09:11:06] Chris Inacio leaves the room
[09:11:09] Chris Inacio joins the room
[09:11:31] Chris Inacio has set the subject to: IETF 96 SACM Session 2
[09:11:43] <Chris Inacio> just a bit late on that…
[09:16:07] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> I think we do need to address the architecture soon. When we parked it, we were waiting for solutions drafts. Now that we are considering partial solutions, we need to consider if the architecture as parked meets that solution
[09:16:40] <Adam Montville> on mic?
[09:16:43] <Jessica Fitzgerald-McKay> please
[09:19:41] <jimsch1> and now you can go back to sleep
