SG15 Q14 thanks CCAMP WG for providing input
on the current status of work and looks forward to productive collaboration on
future ASON protocol development.
We thank the CCAMP
co-chair and other invited IETF experts for their input.
As previously
liaised to the CCAMP WG, Q14 has progressed on the draft recommendation
G.7715.1 “ASON Routing Architecture and Requirements for Link-State
Protocols”. This is contained in
WD31r4. Comments are invited on these
protocol neutral requirements. It is
intended that this draft recommendation progress to consent in October 2003.
To assist in the
future assessment of specific link state routing protocols, a template document
is being maintained and is contained in WD22r3. This template contains routing related requirements from G.8080,
G.7715, and draft G.7715.1.
The ASON architecture (G.8080) identifies that several different name spaces are used by the control plane and management plane functions to reference a common set of transport plane resources. For routing, signalling, and management protocol design, address space use and interactions are important issues to consider particularly when several applications use a common address space. A description of these issues is contained in WD23 "Address Space Relationships in ASON”. It is offered to assist in understanding ASON requirements and the design of solutions that share address spaces.
