ITU-T SG2 Q1 Rapporteur group met in Geneva 2-Dec thru 6-Dec, during which work was progressed on administrative aspects of ENUM.
One aspect currently being studied is an evaluation of the comparison between e164.arpa and a new gTLD for ENUM. The issue of disaster recovery, both physical and logical, was part of the discussion and some concern was expressed by some of the delegates that the current distribution of root and .arpa servers may not be geographically dispersed to ensure a reasonable level of reliability of communications.
SG2 Q1 would like to be informed of any existing studies or evaluations relative to the ability of root and .arpa servers to survive disasters and mechanisms that are used for recovery.
