Andrew Myles Chairman, WiFi Alliance andrew.myles@cisco.com Shrikant Shenwai Director, Wireless Broadband Alliance Email: shrikant@wballiance.net www.wballiance.net From: Internet Area Directors Jari Arkko (jari.arkko@piuha.net) and Ralph Droms (rdroms@cisco.com), IETF Subject: Review of EAP over HTTP specification Dear Wi-Fi and Wireless Broadband Alliance directors, It is our understanding that the WISPr2.0 specification includes a specification for transporting EAP over HTTP. We at the IETF would like to offer our assistance in reviewing this design. While there is no formal requirement for new uses of EAP to be reviewed by the IETF, we have performed several such reviews in an effort to help other organizations. In addition, you may be aware that the IETF has had other proposals for carrying EAP over HTTP in past years, though no standard was ever developed based on them. If you believe such a review would be useful, let us know by responding to this letter. The practical details can be agreed through discussion with the IETF Area Directors. However, we would naturally like to understand your schedule for this work to progress forward. In particular, when must feedback be received in order for it still to have an effect in the final result? Also, in order to ensure that we can use all available reviewers, it would be useful to have some form of access to the specific documents to the reviewers. Can this be arranged? Best regards, Jari Arkko Ralph Droms
