[10:48] <randy> Is anything going on in trigtran?
[10:49] <falk> some discussion about whether to include a statement of research-y problems in charter
[10:49] %% grimmo has arrived.
[10:49] <falk> Allison would like to see discussion in bof on whether focusing on if there's sufficient meat in 'link up' signal to justify a wg
[10:58] <randy> Is there any such discussion?
[10:59] <falk> Well, I pushed to focus exclusively on 'link up' and not do an rfc on research issues. the effort in tcpsat on the research issues rfc wasn't worth it, imo.
[11:00] <falk> a speaker just pointed out that manet, monet, and mobile ip have looked at some of these issues and they are hard. concerned that this group is being unrealistic.
[11:02] <randy> I like the idea of picking one useful event (such as 'link up' or 'link down') and just focusing on that.
[11:02] <falk> important difference between trigtran and other groups mentioned is time scale. trigtran handoff is over multiple seconds .
[11:02] <falk> randy: bush?
[11:02] <randy> Could be very useful for an application in the general Internet communicating with an endpoint in a handset
[11:03] <randy> No, Randy (Randall) Gellens
[11:03] <falk> ah.
[11:03] <falk> yes: link up is considered generally useful in the meeting

[11:36] <randy> Has trigtran ended? Anything happen?
[11:38] <grimmo> not yet :-)
[11:54] <jishac> Forget the high hanging fruit, prob. better off transplanting the whole tree
