Russ, Below is a summary of the working group session. We'll be submitting minutes shortly. Carl The LTANS Working held it's first meeting in Minneapolis on November 11th, roughly 3 weeks after formation. The meeting was well attended and featured much discussion. The charter was presented and discussed. While there has been a common vision amongst active group members, questions were raised that drifted towards a broader scope. No changes were recommended for the charter as the result of the discussion. The task of the group remains tightly focused on the original goals with explicit acknowledgement that there exist related operational, procedural and legal concerns. A draft requirements document has been prepared, but not yet submitted to the IETF. Many questions were asked during the presentation on the draft requirements and there has been brief but well-considered discussion on the mailing list. The requirements document will be refined and augmented, as necessary, based on the discussion both at the WG session and on the list. An updated version will be submitted to IETF by the end of November. Presentations on existing I-Ds were given. Few questions were asked with regard the mechanisms. The existing I-Ds will possibly serve as a foundation for the data structure and protocol documents to be produced by the WG. Overall, no major decisions were reached during the WG session. While there was much discussion and many questions regarding the scope of the group, there were no outright challenges to chartering a new WG to address these issues. The plan is to proceed per the schedule stated in the charter, with acknowledgement that it is an aggressive schedule.
