Filtering Tradeoffs Lower level is better to limit the effects of OSPF DOS attacks sooner. Need to preserve buffer space so legitimate packets aren’t dropped. Granularity is also an issue if virtual links are deployed (since they use routable addresses) Can be explicit or implicit (turned off if virtual links are configured). |
