Document Status Review Tim Polk (NIST)

PKIX WG Specifications

 

RFC 2797bis, CMC Compliance - Jim Schaad (Soaring Hawk)

Jim will briefly review the status of these documents, which were just updated.

SCVP rev 21- Tim Polk (NIST)

        Tim will provide a brief review of the changes made to this

      document as it moved from version 20 to version 21.

SHA-1 Collisions & PKIX - Russ Housley (Vigil Security)

Russ will discuss the need for a document that describes the impact

of recent attacks SHA-1, as this hash function is used in the PKIX

context.

         (20 minutes)

 

SHA-2 support in PKIX – Tim Polk (NIST)

      Tim will discuss plans to develop two RFCs that describe how to

      use SHA-2 with DSA and ECDSA.

         (15 minutes)

    

 

Service Names as Subject Alt Names - Stefan Santesson (Microsoft)

      Discussion of StefanŐs I-D on this topic, with emphasis on the

      encoding to be used (OCTET vs. UTF8 vs. IA5).

Related Specifications & Liaison Presentations

 

      Time allowing, liaison presentations will be accommodated to ensure

      that PKIX is aware of related specifications currently progressing

 as individual drafts or work items in other working groups.
