Draft Summary and Next Steps
The document addresses following issues-
The document addresses inter-op issues in resolving ARP among vendors found at various public events/ private testing efforts IP address to be used in the sending the ARP request.
The document addresses inter-op issues in resolving ARP for unnumbered loopback interfaces.
The document addresses latency when doing a cutover to a "cold standby" LSP (e.g., 1:1 Case). This latency is due to ARP round-trip delay before traffic can be forwarded to the protecting LSP. It recommends the use the same IP address and same MAC address for ARP resolution over working and protecting interfaces.
During some off-line discussions, there is an agreement that (1) and (3) are GMPLS Specific and belong to CCAMP and the draft can be scoped as informational. Furthermore (2) is generic issue and should be discussed else where.
Authors agreed to remove details of (2) from this document, along with any reference to IGP.
We need to do a revision based on the above.
