The Path Evaluation Procedure
Source node signals all available wavelengths on the egress interface and all signal types for each wavelength.
Intermediate nodes prune not-cross-connectable wavelengths and update optical path parameters (distributed RWA).
End node selects the wavelength/signal type verifying the path optical feasibility (path optical parameters with respect to transponder sensitivity) and starts the reservation.
Along RESV, transit nodes set up the cross connection in incoming and outgoing ports (wavelength continuity constraint).
Finally the source node set up the last cross connection for the selected wavelength/signal type.
