The chair presented the status of the WG. The chair confirmed the list
consensus on progressing the overload work as proposed on the list.


Topic: Taking HIP from Experimental to Proposed Standard  
Discussion led by: Petri Jokela

Petri presented a list of issues that needs to be considered to move
to standards track. Regarding the use of ORCHIDS, it was proposed to
consider the use of non-cryptographic identifiers together with
certificates. The group needs to study some implementation issues
related to hosts with multiple identities, which is a feature the
group would like to keep. The standards track spec will need to
include crypto agility. However, because HIP does not perform
negotiation at the crypto level, adding it to the protocol should not
be that difficult. 

An important document to get this work done is the experiment report,
which is being done in the HIP RG. The document is close to being
finished and the chairs of the HIP RG would like to get reviewers for
the document.

The chairs will contact the ADs and the IAB in order to understand
what else will be needed to advance to standards track.
