DIME met Tuesday at 13:00 Lionel Morand and Jouni Korhonen chairing Note Well presented. Agenda accepted. Status ====== Avi Lior reported that IKEv2 PSK is ready to move forward. Lionel gave a brief report on status of Application Design Guidelines document. The document needs some restructuring that Lionel has promised to do. Noted IPR claim posted against recent RFC 5866. RFC 4005 erratum #1946 ---------------------- Avi Lior: SHOULD NOT hold up errata resolution because -bis is coming out. General short DIME status can be found at: http://www.ietf.org/mail-archive/web/dime/current/msg04334.html Diameter NAPT Control Application ================================= draft-ietf-dime-nat-control-03.txt Frank Brockners presenting. Latest update editorial only. Some people have read the document. Lionel sees it to be in sufficiently good shape to go to WGLC. No objections to WGLC. AAA Support for PMIPv6 Localized Routing ======================================== draft-ietf-dime-pmip6-lr-01.txt Presented by Marco Liebsch in the absence of Qin Wu and Glen Zorn. Discussion amongst authors about whether use case sections need restructuring. Open issues. Not sure if draft is complete. Need further input from WG. Diameter Extended NAPTR ======================= draft-ietf-dime-extended-naptr-01.txt Presented by Jouni. Avi Lior requested that it be made mandatory that all IETF applications MUST include definition of service tag in their specification. Agreed. Open issue: should S-NAPTR entry also specify further (client, server)? Not prepared to do in this I-D. Lionel: points of clarification needed for server. Need peer review, authors see as ready for WGLC. Some volunteers to review (Dan + Avi + Lionel). Realm-Based Redirection ======================= draft-ietf-dime-realm-based-redirect-03.txt Presented by Tom Taylor Chages in -03 version to respond to comments received. Authors see as ready for WGLC. RFC 4005bis =========== Presented by Glen Zorn Diameter-RADIUS compatibility efforts of questionable value. Has removed this information from RFC 4005 to see who complained. No complaints so far. Editorial improvements in presentation of AVPs. WG review requested. Four people have read the document. Lionel: still need some clarifications, some text that can be removed. Proposed removal of some content. Dan: need to make it clear to implementors that the AVPs concerned are deprecated. Can't just omit from the document. Avi: need for translation is actually on the rise. Glen: one way is just to encapsulate the RADIUS into Diameter. Avi: maybe take the stuff out but put it into a translation guidelines document. Avi's concern that everyone translate specific items in the same way. Glen has not yet removed any AVP definitions. Sees no harm in either keeping them or taking out. Dan: if we end by deprecating, make sure IANA is instructed appropriately. Frank Brockners spoke in favour of making this a WG document to raise its visibility. Diameter General Sessions ========================= Marco Liebsch presented. Allan Dekok asked whether this was a grouping of sessions or a management session. Intention is session grouping. Jouni asked for clarifications. This is for user identification. Jouni: should be able to do that at application level. Avi: Why overload SessionID -- why not define new attribute? Lengthy further discussion attempting to clarify. Glen Zorn spoke in favour of the objective of state recovery. Qin Wu and Mark Jones asked if Multi-Session-Id would be applicable. But that applies to multiple sesssions for same user rather than multiple users. Need to make mechanism usable beyond the context of the Gx application. Lionel: work on the problem statement. Reference: 3GPP TR 29.816. To the liust for further consideration. Other Business ============== Chairs stated intention that documents be reviewed before WG Last Call. Glen Zorn expressed concern that if this works, there will be no comments during WGLC and the IESG won't accept it. Dan Romascanu speaking as IESG said this outcome would be acceptable to him.
