Minutes of the HIP WG Session at IETF 80 ======================================== Minutes edited by Gonzalo Camarillo Based on notes by Ari Keranen and Tom Henderson Meeting chaired by Gonzalo Camarillo Slides presented included in the proceedings Thursday, March 31st, 1520-1720 ------------------------------- Topic: Agenda Bash Discussions led by: Chair The chair presented the status of the WG. Topic: RFC 4423bis Discussion led by: Robert Moskowitz Bob presented the status of the document. There is an open issue about whether it is possible to use random 128 EIDs. We need to look at the implications of allowing HITs to be random or justify the benefits of making it cryptographic. It was pointed out that HIP for RELOAD benefits from alternative HITs and that HIP for RFID also uses random identifiers. Topic: RFC 5201bis Discussion led by: Robert Moskowitz Bob presented the status of the document. Gonzalo sugested to use the WG's tracker to track open issues. Bob pointed out that the prefix for ORCHIDs (RFC 4843) is not listed by the IANA. Bob will send a note to the list so that someone takes care of resolving the issue. Bob stated that ignoring incoming IP addresses may violate other policies. Tom thinks it is probably not relevant because it is already allowed and because it may be out of scope anyway. The goal is to be able to WGLC this draft before Quebec. Topic: RFC 5206bis Discussion led by: Tom Henderson Tom presented the status of the draft. It was suggested to use UPDATEs with different type values. Discussions on UPDATE signatures and middle boxes will be taken to the list. The goal is to be able to WGLC this draft before Quebec. The meeting ended.
