IETF 81, RMT WG Minutes Friday, 29 July 2011 =========================== WG Updates - Brian Adamson ========================== - SUBMITTED FOR PUBLICATION: - draft-ietf-rmt-flute-revised-12 - draft-ietf-rmt-simple-auth-for-alc-norm-04 - draft-ietf-rmt-bb-fec-raptorq-06 - PENDING SUBMISSION - draft-ietf-rmt-sec-discussion-06 - draft-ietf-rmt-fcast-03 (WG Chair Comments) - ACTIVE DRAFTS: - draft-ietf-rmt-flute-sdp-00 - "NEW" DRAFTS: - draft-luby-uod-raptorq-00 - draft-roca-rmt-goe-fec-00 "Simple Authentication Schemes" Update ====================================== An updated document was submitted that addressed the Area Director concerns. The updated document also identifies a mechanism for replay attack protection for the EXT_AUTH header format specified. FCAST Update ======================================= A new FCAST draft has been submitted that satisfies the RMT Chair comments and the document has been submitted to the Area Director for publication. Generalized Object Encoding (GOE) FEC Scheme ============================================ A personal submission on a new FEC Scheme was presented by Vincent Roca. The document describes an alternative approach for Unequal FEC Protection for objects as compared to the "draft-luby-uod-raptorq-00" scheme that was presented at the previous RMT meeting. Vincent also provided a comparative analysis of the GOE versus the UOD approach. There was a general discussion as to whether either of these documents should be considered for adoption as working group documents. The result of this discussion was some general agreement that actual RMT protocol _user_ input and participation (i.e. review of these documents) MUST occur to indicate the interest level in these types of specifications and to provide some additional objective review besides the current RMT "developer" and "researcher" participation. It was suggested that the draft authors (GOE and UOD) solicit the user community for additional input and participation in the RMT working group list and/ or meetings.
