What: Traditional desktop and laptop computers today are increasingly making use of wide-area wireless networks, and all shapes and sizes of mobile devices are making more use of the Internet. These globally connected nodes stretch the boundaries of requirements for Internet hosts published 21 years ago in Internet Engineering Task Force RFC1123 and RFC1122. They are introducing new challenges and opportunities for the development of a future Internet. The implications that reach beyond networking, also impacting choices for, and support of, applications technologies.
This panel will identify and discuss the top open issues for enabling the mobile future Internet based on open standards.

Due to high demand and limited space at previous panel events, the Internet Society is providing advance information about registration. Online registration will be open 1 November 2010 in two blocks. To account for the broad range of home timezones of IETF participants, half of the available spaces available will be open for registration at 0000 UTC on 1 November 2010 with the remaining spaces made available at 1200 UTC on 1 November 2010.
