Information desks
During an IETF meeting, the RFC Editor, the IETF Tools Team, and IANA generally have desks near the meeting registration desk to provide information and answer questions about the work they do.
For specific hours and further details, see signs near the information desks.
RFC Editor
The RFC Editor is responsible for publishing the RFC document series, which contains technical and organizational documents about the Internet, including the specifications and policy documents produced by five streams: the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the Internet Research Task Force (IRTF), the Internet Architecture Board (IAB), Independent Submissions, and Editorial.
IANA (Internet Assigned Numbers Authority)
The global coordination of the DNS Root, IP addressing, and other Internet protocol resources is performed as the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) functions.
IETF Tools Team
The IETF Tools Team develops and maintains tools to support all aspects of the work of the IETF, such as the IETF Datatracker and tools used to author Internet-Drafts. The team investigates open source tools that can help IETF participants work together more efficiently. When no tools are available, the Tools Team designs, develops, and maintains custom tools. Whenever possible, standards-based solutions are greatly preferred.
