[09:38:49] <morrowc> geoff, how do you think your dnssec study is affected by 'repressive regimes'? (interestingly vietnam was a high point, which I wasn't expecting)
[09:39:20] <morrowc> oh, geoff left ;(
[09:44:13] <ggm> yes, we think therre are aspects of the measurement which suggfest this
[09:44:19] <ggm> (I do the backend work with geoff)
[09:44:31] <ggm> the remarkably high volumes from the middle east economies take you there
[09:50:00] <morrowc> ok, so I'd have expected those economies to actually squish dnssec out of the requests... not ask for dnssec for validations.
[09:50:05] <morrowc> or is that what you meant?
[09:52:35] Geoff Huston joins the room
[10:02:44] <ggm> i think  clue density in these economies is low. if you bought an off the shelf DPI unit, telling it to remove DNSSEC is maybe not yet marketed
[10:02:52] <ggm> no doubt it will come
[10:04:27] <morrowc> ok, curious... given the prevalence of lies told in dns internally... I would have figured stopping clients from asking for dnssec would be a priority.
[10:05:03] <morrowc> https://plus.google.com/u/0/109988850362621109918/about  - hey lookie! bob's home!
[10:11:16] <ggm> well.. i also expected it. but then I expected not to see china Ipv6 in the measurement we do, and yet, we do see hugely variant exposure to IPv6 in china. the great firewall is .. random
[10:11:41] <morrowc> ok.
