|
About ppsp | |
P2P streaming applications account for more and more Internet traffic. According to statistics in a main china ISP, PPlive, a famous real time P2P streaming application, accounts 10% of the total traffic in its backbone, which surpasses the Bittorrent traffic share (8% )already. Therefore there is no doubt that P2P streaming is more and more important in the Internet. It is time to draw up an open standard in P2P streaming to make it wider adoption and regulate its behavior from the whole Internet point of view. PPSP is to standardize streaming control and transfer protocols for peer to peer streaming applications.
