Challenge 1: Router Support Information acquisition To support congestion control, routers have to obtain at least a subset of the following information 1. Capacity of (outgoing) links 2. Traffic carried over (outgoing) links 3. Internal buffer statistics Obtaining that information may result in complex tasks Open issue: can this information be made available, e.g., by additional interfaces or protocols? |
